Brian Virgil Franklin Hill Gammon, of Shelbyville, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 as a result of his ongoing battle with Post Traumatic Stress.
Brian was born in Murfreesboro and raised in Shelbyville. Brian is survived by his wife, Maria Reyes Gammon; mother, Shelia Eubank Simmons; father, Virgil Gammon; sisters, Jennifer “Jenny” Gammon and Stacey Gammon Ryan; brothers, Daniel and Drew Gammon; step sisters, Andi Cooper and Stevie Velker; and step brothers, David Alford and James and Will Pinson; and a host of other family and friends.
Services to celebrate Brian will be at Eleven O’clock the morning of Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Roselawn Funeral Home with brother Gayland Dawson and Brother Stephen Reeves. Placement will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. Brian was a graduate of Central High School in Shelbyville in 1997 and the Tennessee Technology Center in Murfreesboro.
Brian was a very skilled and talented machinist. He served his country honorably and proudly as an infantryman in the US Army in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom and he was honorably discharged in March 2011.
For his service he was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge.
Brian Virgil Franklin Hill Gammon lost his battle with PTS on November 3, 2015. He was 36 years old.
