SUMMARY:Veterans Fishing Weekend Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Lost Lake also known as Knop Pond is a reservoir in Groton\, Mass\, It was formed from three lakes by the headwaters of Salmon Brook. The southern part of the lake is known as Knops Pond where it is near 30 feet deep. It is stocked with rainbow\, brown and brook trout every spring and fall and is home to several species of warm water fish. \nThis retreat for individual Veterans and/or Couples will include: \n\nFly tying workshop\nRod building 101\nLures to catch fish\, versus lures to catch you\nPresentation depending on season\, water clarity\, water temperatures\, depth.\nLearn how to cast with accuracy\nKayaking\nFresh\, homemade meals\nFish stories around a campfire with S’mores\n\nDan\, is an avid angler and host of the television show “Go Fish with Dan Kenney.” The television program airs via the Charter Spectrum network and is seen on YouTube at\nwww.youtube.com/gofishdanshow and runs the New England Fishing & Outdoor Expo. www.nefishingexpo.com \nA $50 fee will be required at registration\, and will be fully refunded at the completion of the retreat. Our retreats are 100% drug and alcohol free. All lodging\, meals and activities are provided to Veterans free of charge. SUMMARY:Native American Women Veterans Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Project New Hope Inc.\, announces its first retreat exclusively for Native American women focusing on MST & PTSD. Native American women Veterans face numerous cultural and economic barriers. By providing support\, education and resources\, PNH hopes to improve the quality of life for Native American women. \nNative American women who reside in New England and beyond are eligible to sign up. Proof of military service and tribal affiliation is required. We can accommodate up to 40 women to attend the retreat. \nThis retreat was designed in part by Lisa Silver Crow Perreault of the Mohegan Tribe and Shenandoah D. Ellis-Ulmer a member of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Dakota and the Santee Sioux Tribe especially for women to replenish and renew their spirit. \nA $50 fee will be required at registration\, and will be fully refunded at the completion of the retreat.
