David Mark Colegrove, 51

 

Officer David M. Colegrove, DSN 2857, received his commission and was appointed to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department on 03/07/1988. Officer Colegrove attended the Saint Louis Police Academy for a 2 week period to become familiar with the policies and procedures pertaining to the St. Louis Police Department. On 03/21/1988 Officer Colegrove started his uniform assignment in the 5Th District on Penrose Avenue. On 05/26/1989 Officer Colegrove tendered his resignation with the Saint Louis Police Department. Officer Colegrove served 1.22 years of faithful and dedicated service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. It should be noted that prior to his appointment with the Saint Louis Police Department that Officer Colegrove had been with the St. Charles City Police Department.

Officer Colegrove then received a commission with the Chesterfield Police Department. While working with the Chesterfield Police Department he continued his studies in college obtaining his Master’s Degree. This enabled him to start his career as a Special Agent with the USDA.

Officer Colegrove was a veteran of the Missouri Air National Guard achieving the rank of Sergeant (E-5). He separated from the military on 11/01/1982.

Officer Colegrove, along with his brother Joseph were 3Rd generation Police Officers following the footsteps of their father and grandfather.

Colegrove, David Mark, 51, passed away, Saturday, November 29, 2014.

Dear husband of Kimberly Colegrove (nee Fetti); loving father of Christine, Mallory, Sandi and Jana Colegrove; dear stepfather of Madison, Jacob and Grace Folsom; beloved son of Stephanie Rinaldi and Joseph Colegrove; dear brother of Shawn Johnson, Julie Hundelt and the late Joseph Hoffman; dear uncle, nephew, cousin, friend to many and leaves behind his dedicated dog, Rosie.

David retired from a 30-year law enforcement career as a Special Agent with the USDA Inspector General Office.
