US Marine Staff Sergeant Diego M Gonzales, of Pecos, New Mexico.
He was a graduate of Pecos High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps with deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He earned the rank of staff sergeant.
Gonzales served with 1st Platoon, Golf Company, Battalion Landing Team 2nd Bn., 8th Marines, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel.

SSgt Diego M Gonzales lost his battle with PTS, December 28, 2010. He was 27 years old.

As a TSA family member you always had kind words. When we opened the check point Diego and I always yelled “Morning Diego, Morning Dora check point is now secured” those words were never spoken out loud again when you went to receive your crown in heaven. You are always remembered and never ever forgotten.
