US Marine Staff Sergeant Diego M Gonzales, of Pecos, New Mexico.

He was a graduate of Pecos High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps with deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He earned the rank of staff sergeant.

Gonzales served with 1st Platoon, Golf Company, Battalion Landing Team 2nd Bn., 8th Marines, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF DIEGO M. GONZALES Diego, we miss you so much and this year has been incredibly difficult for us as we learn to cope with your absence. It has also been a testament to how much you were loved and how many lives you touched. You are always on our minds, and we treasure the wonderful memories we have of you. You were a great man, kind, caring, hard-working and a hero who served our country with pride. We promise to keep your legacy alive and let your sons know how amazing you were. The void in our hearts and lives can never be filled, we will miss you for the rest of our lives. Semper Fi Marine.     As a TSA family member you always had kind words. When we opened the check point Diego and I always yelled “Morning Diego, Morning Dora check point is now secured” those words were never spoken out loud again when you went to receive your crown in heaven. You are always remembered and never ever forgotten.
