Jesse James Peterson, 38, Moose Lake, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 in Coshocton, OH.<\/p>\n

He was born in Moose Lake on May 9, 1978 to James and Mary Peterson.\u00a0 Jesse grew up west of Moose Lake on a portion of the original Peterson farmstead.\u00a0 While younger, Jesse began a lifelong passion of reading and was also involved with Boy Scouts.\u00a0 He graduated in 1996 from Moose Lake High School and continued his education at Fond Du Lac Community College where he received his A.A. Degree.\u00a0 Jesse later attended Hibbing Community College and achieved his skills to become a police officer.\u00a0 He worked for Moose Lake Police Department, Mille Lacs County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Benton County Sheriff\u2019s Office, and for the past 11 years worked for Carlton County Sheriff\u2019s Office attaining the rank of Patrol Sgt.\u00a0 Jesse was like a walking google and could often recall shocking facts and MN Statutes.\u00a0 He was fascinated by all things nerdy and the last few years built several hives of honey bees to harvest and raise honey.\u00a0 Jesse was a member of the NRA and liked guns.\u00a0 His true passion in life was his children.\u00a0 Jesse was an awesome Dad whom loved his children and could immediately transition from his squad car to a wonderful caring parent at the end of his day.<\/p>\n

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Peterson; and an uncle: Ed Heikkila.<\/p>\n

Jesse will be remembered by his wife, Heidi; his four children whom he loved incredibly: Preston, Paris, Pierce, and Piper; Mother: Mary Peterson; sister: Jasie Peterson; grandmother: Ina Heikkila Johnson; aunts and uncles: Fay (Don) Klande; Jerry (Glenna) Peterson; Larry (Sally) Peterson; Susan Vincent; Dave (Lea) Heikkila; Barb Heikkila; and numerous brother\u2019s and sister\u2019s in his law enforcement family.<\/p>\n
