Army Specialist Noah Charles Pierce, born December of 1983, in Sacramento, California, beloved son of Tom and Cheryl Harris Softich; beloved brother of Sarah.<\/p>\n

Noah grew up in Virginia, Minnesota, and he was a graduate of Eveleth-Gilbert High School. He enlisted in the US Army on June 24, 2002. Noah served two tours of duty in 2003 and 2005 during the war in Iraq.<\/p>\n

Noah was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Yorki-Bergman American Legion, Post No. 220 of Mountain Iron.<\/p>\n

Noah authored eleven poems chronicling his time spent in the combat zone and his experiences he faced when he returned home from Iraq, three of which were published in a college English book.<\/p>\n

SPC Noah C Pierce lost his battle with PTS, July 26, 2007, in Eveleth, Minnesota. He was 23 years old.<\/p>\n
