US Marine Lance Corporal Cameron Matthew Anestis, born in Manchester, New Hampshire, beloved son of Emmanuel John and Dawn Sidway Anestis of Lexington; beloved husband of Tiffany Elaine Anestis; beloved father of Isabelle; beloved brother of Kalyn, Evan and Christian.<\/p>\n

Cameron attended The Citadel Military College of South Carolina and served in the Iraq War for eight months in support of the Global War on Terrorism.<\/p>\n

On August 16, 2009, Anestis, a Lance Corporal in the Marine Reserves, went to a Lexington VA medical center seeking help and was turned away after being told treatment was not available there. Anestis went to a second VA center in Lexington the following day only to be turned away, again, because he did not have the form showing he was a combat veteran.<\/p>\n

LCpl Cameron Matthew Anestis lost his battle with PTS, August 17, 2009, at his home in Georgetown, Kentucky. He was 21 years old.<\/p>\n
