The<br \/>\nannual rate of suicide is provided separately for Service members in the Active Component and<br \/>\nthose in the Selected Reserve Component of the Ready Reserve (SELRES), subdivided by the<br \/>\nReserve and National Guard. Data collection and reporting was required for all suicides and<br \/>\nidentified suicide attempts that occurred among Service members in the Active Component and<br \/>\nthose that occurred among SELRES who were in a duty or training status.
