She is seeking more than $1 million in damages.<\/p>\n<p>A hospital spokeswoman said she couldn&#8217;t comment on active litigation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"art-story__content-wrapper art-story__content-wrapper--image\">\n<figure class=\"art-story__image art-image art-story__image--left\"><figcaption class=\"art-image__figcaption \">\n<div class=\"art-image__credit \">\n<div class=\"art-story__text-wrapper row-m row-l row-xl\">\n<div class=\"art-story__content-wrapper \">\n<p>Harper, 85, an Air Force veteran, was admitted to the hospital Feb. 7, 2016, for gangrene but wasn&#8217;t given antibiotics or IV fluids, the lawsuit said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"art-story__content-wrapper art-story__content-wrapper--image\">Harper, who was incoherent, was released Feb. 11 despite &#8220;baseball-size sores&#8221; on his body that &#8220;smelled of rotten flesh and had thick green discharge oozing from them,&#8221; the suit said. He also had &#8220;cracked skin on his right leg that was falling off in pieces,&#8221; according to the lawsuit.<\/div>\n<p>The sores and discharge ran from his heel up to his right ear, the lawsuit said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"art-story__content-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"art-story__text-wrapper row-m row-l row-xl\">\n<div class=\"art-story__text\">\n<p>After being discharged, Harper could not eat, drink anything or take his medication because it caused him to choke, the suit said.
