Officer Brandon Lee Krueger<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Officer Brandon Lee Krueger of Chicago, Illinois, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, hero and friend.<\/p>\n He was a five year veteran with the Chicago Police Department, Narcotics Unit #189 and a United States Marine Corps veteran.<\/p>\n He was the loving husband of Andrea (nee Doule); beloved father of Aiden, Keira and Kendall Krueger; devoted stepfather of Tyler and Evan Upp; cherished son of Roger (Trina) Krueger and Diane (Dr. Greg) Milani (nee Unger); dearest brother of Lisa Lindaur; fond uncle of Kailey, Taylor, Connor, Logan and Olivia.<\/p>\n Officer Brandon Lee Krueger lost his battle with PTS on July 8, 2018. He was 37 years old.<\/p>\n Shared from Blue Lives Matter:<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cChicago, IL \u2013 Chicago Police Officer Brandon Krueger died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Sunday, after he shot himself in the head with his duty weapon while parked in his patrol vehicle in the police department\u2019s parking lot.<\/p>\n Officer Krueger, 37, was pronounced dead at the Chicago Police Department\u2019s Area South Fifth District station at 7:26 p.m. on July 8, the Cook County medical examiner\u2019s office told the\u00a0Chicago Sun-Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n His death has been ruled a suicide.<\/p>\n \u201cOur heartfelt condolences go out to his family and his police family,\u201d department spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told the\u00a0Chicago Tribune<\/a>\u00a0on Monday. \u201cWe know they\u2019re very affected. The superintendent talked to those folks today. It\u2019s very difficult for us and we\u2019ve made awareness about suicide a priority because we know we\u2019re one of the departments with the highest rates of suicide.\u201d<\/p>\n Officer Krueger, a five-year veteran of the Chicago PD, was assigned to the agency\u2019s Bureau of Organized Crime, which handles the city\u2019s narcotics, vice, and gang investigations, Guglielmi said, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.<\/p>\n He was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.<\/p>\n \u201cMy beloved son is gone,\u201d Officer Krueger\u2019s mother, Diane Milani, wrote in a\u00a0Facebook<\/a> post on Tuesday. \u201cMy soul is shattered. Please pray he is in peace with our Lord.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI love you to eternity,\u201d the\u00a0grieving mother<\/a> added. \u201cI\u2019ll miss you every day of my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
