John Paul Duffy<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Deputy John Paul Duffy, 47, of Las Cruces left this earth on January 25, 2019.<\/p>\n John was born on September 14, 1971 in Fort Lewis, WA. John who was fondly known as “Duff” or “Duffy” had a very impressive career in law enforcement. We could not be more proud of the work he did and how well he did it.<\/p>\n John was not only a dedicated officer, but he was also a son, father, and grandfather. He also had an incredible large amount of people who loved him and called him family. His laughter was contagious and so was his smile. There wasn’t anything John wouldn’t do for someone if they were in need no matter what it was. He genuinely cared about everyone and always made it a point to check in on people. His kindness and compassion didn’t stop at humans, John had a very strong bond with animals. He had a big heart and it showed daily.<\/p>\n Duffy served six years in the United States Army and was apart of the CWA 7911 which is the police union and was a member of the NRA. He was also a member of the Armaduras LEMC (Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club) and loved to ride his motorcycle and go camping in his free time.\u00a0 He was a very simple man with a very big heart. He will be missed dearly.<\/p>\n Those left to mourn his passing include his loving mother, Sherry Fletcher (Baxter Brown); his daughter, Jessica Capron; his granddaughter, Eva Adelaine Capron; his uncle, Glenn Duffy; his aunt, Vicki Sears; four cousins, Jake Duffy, Penni Sears, Amanda Christensen and Milo Lish.<\/p>\n He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Duffy; his maternal grandparents, Billy and Maxine Cecil; paternal grandparents, John Paul and Louise Jesse Duffy and uncle, Drew Duffy.<\/p>\n Visitation will begin at 2 PM Thursday, January 31, 2019 in Mesilla Park Community Church, 1040 El Paseo Road where the Funeral Services is scheduled for 3 PM with Pastor David Vistine officiating. Cremation will follow and Inurnment of Cremains will be held at a later date.
