Army Specialist Kenneth J Stafford, born August of 1985, in Reno, beloved son to Terry A Colegrove and Willie J Stafford. He attended school in the Reno area and graduated from Washoe High School in 2003.
He enlisted in the United States Army April of 2009, and served a tour in Iraq in 2011. He was in good standing with his unit, and was awarded Army Commendation Medals (x2) and Army Achievement Medals (x2). He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 229th Aviation Regiment when he returned to Texas. His unit was moved to Fort Lewis, Washington. He was an exemplary soldier and serviceman.
Kenny was loved and cherished by his wife, his daughters, his family and all who knew him.
SPC Stafford was shot and killed by police while suffering through a Post-Traumatic Stress episode. He was on leave visiting family in Nevada.
SPC Kenneth J Stafford lost his battle with PTSD, July 11, 2013, in Reno, Nevada. He was 27 years old.
