Ryan M “Switch” Smith, born April of 1988, in Lawrence, Kansas, beloved son of Diana Reynolds Luppens and Shane Smith; beloved father of Annabell Rose; beloved brother of Lindsay and Alyssa.

He was a 2006 graduate of Blue Springs South High School and veteran of the US Army.

Ryan entered the service in June of 2008 and was honorably discharged in November of 2011. During that time he served tours of duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan and he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.

He was currently studying to become a certified EMT at the Central Jackson County Fire and Protection District. Ryan was a very hard worker, unselfish and had a huge heart. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and had a passion for life. Ryan was quick to smile, dance and make people laugh. He was also a master of many voices and could do a perfect George W. Bush imitation.

Ryan M Smith lost his battle with PTS, December 2, 2012, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was 24 years old.
