David K. Betz III, age 24, of Lynn, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017.
Born on May 18, 1992, in Salem Hospital, he was the beloved son of Janice A. (Shay) and David K. Betz Jr. of Lynn. He attended St. Pius V Elementary School, Lynn, graduating in 2006, St. Mary’s High School, Lynn, graduating in 2010 and Marian Court College, where he studied Criminal Justice, graduating in 2012.
David was a lifelong participant of several youth sports in the City of Lynn, with his passion being baseball. He always gave it his best and was a team player through and through.
David’s lifelong ambition was to be a police officer to serve so many walks of life in need, as well as serve alongside so many brother and sister officers he so adored. For all of us who know him, he is truly our Guardian Angel, patrolling above.
David is survived by his parents Janice A. (Shay) and David K. Betz Jr., his sister Kayla Marie and his brother Cameron, all of Lynn.
He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Dorothy (Blaney) and Bill Shay, of Lynn, his paternal grandmother, Ellen (DeCarlo) Betz of Cambridge, his Auntie and Uncle Wendy (Shay) and Sam Ohannesian and his cherished cousins Jaiana, Sammy and Braeden, all of Lynn, as well as countless others who had touched his life.
