Army Staff Sergeant George J “Geo” Mackulin IV, born February 25, 1985, of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, beloved son George John Mackulin III and Suzanne (Seleski) Mackulin.
Geo was a Thomas Jefferson graduate, class of 2004, and a Duquesne University graduate with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry in 2013. In between high school and college he was a staff sergeant in the United States Army, highly decorated in Special Forces, serving all over the world.
His military awards include, Green to Gold Scholarship, John D McGrath Leadership Award, Army Commendation Medals (x2), Army Achievement Medals (x2) and Good Conduct Medal.
Geo then served as an ROTC Instructor with the Pittsburgh Battalion. He was a member of the American Legion in Pleasant Hills and the Floreffe Volunteer Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by three of his grandparents, Althea Seleski, George J and Marie (Marra) Mackulin Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory, his parents, George and Sue Mackulin; sister, Krisha (Richard) DiMascio; grandfather, Robert Seleski; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
SSG George “Geo” Mackulin IV lost his battle with PTS on October 12, 2015. He was 30 years old.
