Army Specialist Patrick T Conlen, of Chesterfield.
Patrick served honorably in the United States Army from 1992 to 1996. He was an E-4 combat engineer and a Desert Storm Veteran.
“Pat was injured to his soul. His was a spiritual injury, not a physical one” said his friend, Alison Smith.
SPC Patrick T Conlen lost his battle with PTSD, October 30, 2013. He was 43 years old.
I love your description of his injury. I lost my own brother, also an Army veteran in April 2014 due to a PTSD related death. I always said he had a moral trauma as opposed to a physical one. He was also in his mid-40’s. I wonder if they served together? He later worked out of Selfidge AB. My brother never admitted to or received treatment until later in his life. Unfortunately there wasn’t much out there for him. Such a loss of good men… my heartfelt condolences!
I am sorry he lost his battle and I am sure he misses his family and friends very much as they miss him
