Air Force Staff Sergeant Courtney Jo Rush, born November of 1984, in Galesburg, Illinois, beloved daughter of Rick and Gail Meminger Rush.
Courtney was a 2003 graduate from Aledo High School. Following graduation, she enlisted in the US Air Force in June 2003. She completed her basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. She then completed technical training at Shepphard Air Force Base in Witchita Falls, Texas and Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas.
She was stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Arizona, where she deployed to Kuwait for Operation Iraqi Freedom. She returned to Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina where she deployed to Qatar during Operation Enduring Freedom. Her most recent position was quality control, specializing as maintenance crew chief for C-17 aircraft, a position she was chosen to do by her superiors as a result of her dedication and love for the Air Force.
Courtney enjoyed her dogs, horseback riding, volunteering and doing charity work in the Charleston area.
SSGT Courtney Jo Rush lost her battle with PTSD, January 3, 2012. She was 27 years old.
