Army Veteran Curtis L Gearhart, of Des Moines, Iowa, beloved father, son, brother, hero and friend.

Curtis was born February 22, 1984 in Newton, Iowa to Curtis Gearhart and Joni (Evans) Frette. He graduated from Lincoln High School and entered the Military directly after graduation. Curtis served two tours overseas for his country and was honorably discharged in 2007. Curtis enjoyed still keeping in contact with his military brothers. In his free time Curtis liked going to shows, spending time at the Pink Elephant Tattoo shop where he received many of his tattoos and the Des Moines Hardcore. Most importantly though, Curtis loved being with his family and friends, especially his alone time he got with his two daughters on the weekends.

Those left to cherish Curtis’ memory are his two daughters, Lola and Vivian Gearhart of Ankeny; parents, Joni (Craig) Frette of Des Moines and Curtis P. Gearhart of Ankeny; three brothers, Justin and Broc Frette of Des Moines and Clayton Gearhart; two sisters, Leah Frette of Des Moines and Shawna Allen of Chariton, grandparents, Vivian (Michael) Kinkade of Ankeny and Phyllis Frette, the mother of his children, Sarah Gearhart of Ankeny and his significant other, Valesca Steffans and son Miles of Johnston along with many friends. Curtis is preceded in death by his grandparents George Evans and Rita and Harold Castell.

Curtis L Gearhart left this life on November 7, 2016. He was 32 years old.
