Daniel R Swaney, 30

Air Force Technical Sergeant Daniel R Swaney was born in Toccoa, Georgia, raised in Seneca, South Carolina, he was the beloved son of Kathy Williams and Doug Swaney.

He graduated from Seneca High School in 2002. He entered the United States Air Force in 2003. After graduating basic, he went to Shaw Air Force Base for 6 years as a crew chief working on F-16’s.

TSgt Swaney wanted to do something to make a difference so, he went through extensive training to become a flight engineer with Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), where he was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base for 6 years. He went to Korea, Africa and Afghanistan twice. He is credited with saving 41 lives.

Those left to cherish his memory, his mother and step-father, Kathy & Glenn Williams; his father and step-mother, Doug & Mary Swaney; and his brother, Daniel Williams.

TSgt Daniel R Swaney lost his battle with PTS on May 7, 2015. He was 30 years old.
