The LCPL Lutz Buddy Up program will be held on the second Wednesday of every month at the American Legion Post on Kennedy Boulevard, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The outposts are social clubs where veterans can connect with other local veterans.
A South Florida mother started the program after her son committed suicide when he returned from serving in the Iraq war in 2013.
“There was nobody here,” Janine Lutz said. “Johnny wasn’t connected locally. And I thought that’s what I am going to do. I am going to connect these guys on a local level.
“They are going to recognize that they still need each other and they’re going to live to tell,” she said.
Lutz set up the first outpost in Davie, Florida and it now has 400 members.
