US Marine Staff Sergeant Robert “Bob” Gentry Keith, Jr. of Holly Ridge, born in Guilford County, beloved son of Robert Joe Keith, Sr. and the late Sharon Hogan Keith.

Bob was a graduate of Wake Forest-Rolesville High School and attended Catawaba College.

After college Bob joined the United States Marine Corps where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and was an ordinance specialist with Harrier Jets and later light helicopters. He served two tours of duty in Iraq and a tour with the 22nd MEU on the Mediterranean Sea before becoming disabled and retiring from the Marine Corps.

Bob is survived by his father, Robert G. “Joe” Keith of Wake Forest; a sister, Kim Keith Griffith and husband, J.C., of Wake Forest; a niece, Peyton Bucher; nephew, Zachary Langenberg; uncle and aunt, LeBaron and Beverly Keith of Youngsville; aunt, Beverly Hogan of Farmville and by a cousin, Robert “Jack” Williams of Angier. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Richard Keith and Hazel Woodlief Keith.

SSgt Robert Gentry Keith lost his battle with PTSD, July 4, 2014. He was 33 years old.
