Army Sergeant Timothy Defoix Stalter, born July of 1984, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, beloved son of Melissa Stalter Hicks; beloved brother of Alicia Nicole; beloved father of Jeffrey.
Tim’s unit was the B Co, 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry, 10th mountain division out of Fort Drum New York.
He was an infantry squad leader in a light infantry company with the mission to deploy worldwide and conduct combat missions upon arrival.
SGT Stalter’s awards include the Purple Heart, Army Commendation, Army Achievement medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and NATO Medal. He also served in Afghanistan and received the Afghanistan Campaign Medal W/2 Bronze Service Stars.
Tim achieved the rank of sergeant. He was honorably discharged in 2006.
SGT Timothy D Stalter lost his battle with PTSD, February 4, 2013. He was 28 years old.
