Dane Anthony Smith, 36, of Chicago, died suddenly on January 1st, 2019. Loving husband of Nicole, nee Norman. Adored father of Ryker. Beloved son of Rose (Steven Stroner) Lopez and Jeffrey (Pye Squire) Sacks. Brother of Jonathan Sacks, Kelsey (Steve) Hill and Kevin (Stephanie) Siebold. Dane was dedicated to service. He proudly served in the US Army as Airborne Infantry, a Cook County Deputy Sheriff, and a current Chicago Police Officer assigned to the 007th district. Dane was a warrior in the community he served and will be missed by all who knew him. “Until Valhalla, our brother.”
