US Marine Corporal Jeffrey Michael Lucey, born March of 1981, in Springfield, beloved son of Kevin and Joyce Goodrich Lucey; beloved brother of Debra and Kelly.
Jeff grew up in Belchertown and was a 1999 graduate. He played recreation basketball, soccer and baseball while in school and was also a former Cub Scout.
After high school, Jeff enlisted as a Marine Reservist stationed in New Haven, Connecticut. He spent time in Kuwait and Iraq from January through July of 2003.
Jeff was a second year student at Holyoke Community College studying business.
Cpl Jeffrey Michael Lucey lost his battle with PTSD, June 22, 2004, in Belchertown, Massachusetts. He was 23 years old.

It’s so tragic to think of these people who served their country and come home to end their lives. Something has to be done so that people who go to God forsaken countries on our behalf are able to come home and return to normal life.
