Army PV2 Jonathan Michael Berry, born September of 1988, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, beloved son to Keith Thompson and Tammy Berry. He was a longtime resident of Woodville.
Jon joined the US Army and graduated from Fort Jackson, South Carolina where he was honored for expert marksmanship and was assigned to the 16th Ordinance Battalion in Aberdeen. He was currently stationed with Alpha Company, 16th Ordinance Battalion, 2nd Platoon, Ruffriders at Aberdeen Proving Grounds in Maryland.
Jon was an avid golfer and was well known for his long drives off the tee at many of the golf courses in Newaygo County. Jon also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
PV2 Jonathan Michael Berry lost his battle with PTSD, July 20, 2008. He was 19 years old.
