Jonathan Michael Downing, 32

Sergeant First Class Jonathan Michael Downing, of Cumberland City, Tennessee, formerly from Lake Worth, Florida, went to be with the grand architect of the universe on October 29, 2015.

He was born in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on August 19, 1982, the son of John Downing and Mary Westrick Downing. Jon or “JD” to his friends, was a retired US Army Special Forces soldier, assigned to the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne). He was a Bronze Star recipient, having conducted multiple deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as other sensitive areas in the region. He was well respected in the Bully community, both as a breeder and a judge. He was a member of Charity Lodge #370, the Amara Shine Center as well as a member of the ROJ Ct 179.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lynn and Gordon and his grandmother, Shirlee.

Jonathan is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa, and their three beautiful children, Dylan, McKayla, and Jon, Jr.; his Mother and Father, his four sisters, Autumn, Jennifer, Samantha, and Sabrina, and grandma, Kathy, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, all who will dearly miss him.

SFC Jonathan Michael Downing lost his battle with PTS on October 29, 2015. He was 32 years old.
