Joshua Thomas Miller, 35

Joshua Thomas Miller was born on January 25, 1981 in Lansing, Michigan to Thomas and Elizabeth Miller. Josh grew up in Haslett, with his siblings, Jennifer, Sarah, Amanda, Steven and Michael. He graduated from Haslett High School in 1999.

Josh joined the Marine Corps in 2000, and served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He served as a landing support specialist and was promoted to Corporal.

After leaving the Corps, Josh attended the University of California / Berkley and later worked in their Seismology department. He had a son in 2010 and loved the time that he spent with him. Josh, like his father, loved the outdoors and tinkering in his shop. Josh moved to Tollhouse, California with his girlfriend. Unfortunately the demons of war followed him home and he suffered severely from PTSD as a result.

On Christmas day, 2016, Josh went into the Sierra Nevada Forest and committed suicide. His body was found two days later. His family and friends are deeply affected and are forever changed.

Those left to cherish his memory, Vincent Miller (son), Thomas and Elizabeth Miller (parents), Jennifer Miller, Sarah Roush, Amanda Hissong (sister) and Steven Miller, Michael Miller (brothers).

Cpl Joshua Thomas Miller lost his battle with PTSD on December 25, 2016. He was 35 years old.
