Maun F Hardy, III, 24

Army Staff Sergeant Maun F Hardy III, born March of 1983, in Elgin, Illinois, beloved husband of Cassandra Weese.

Maun was raised in the Dundee area and was a 2001 graduate of H.D. Jacobs High School.

Following graduation, Maun enlisted in the Army. He was most recently stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he was a drill sergeant at the time of his death. During his military career, SSG Hardy served two tours of combat duty in Iraq, and was a drill sergeant in 2007.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Maun had a great talent for singing and writing rap music. He touched countless lives in both his personal life as well as his military career. Maun was a true hero to his country, family and friends, and he will be greatly missed more than he will ever know.

SSG Maun F Hardy III lost his battle with PTS, November 8, 2007. He was 24 years old.
