Army Specialist Noah Charles Pierce, born December of 1983, in Sacramento, California, beloved son of Tom and Cheryl Harris Softich; beloved brother of Sarah.
Noah grew up in Virginia, Minnesota, and he was a graduate of Eveleth-Gilbert High School. He enlisted in the US Army on June 24, 2002. Noah served two tours of duty in 2003 and 2005 during the war in Iraq.
Noah was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Yorki-Bergman American Legion, Post No. 220 of Mountain Iron.
Noah authored eleven poems chronicling his time spent in the combat zone and his experiences he faced when he returned home from Iraq, three of which were published in a college English book.
SPC Noah C Pierce lost his battle with PTS, July 26, 2007, in Eveleth, Minnesota. He was 23 years old.
