Steve T Hilbert, 29

 

Marine Steve T Hilbert of Festus, Missouri, beloved father of Layton, beloved son of Thomas and Susan Hilbert, beloved brother of Greg and Kimberly.

He was born December 19, 1986 in St Louis, Missouri.

Steve served honorably in the United States Marine Corps. He attained the rank of Corporal. During his time in service he received many awards/medals. Among them are: Rifle Expert Badge (2nd Awd), Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Combat Action Ribbon (2nd Awd, Iraq/Afghanistan), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3rd Awd), Iraq/ Afghanistan Campaign Medals, GWOT Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, NATO Medal- ISAF Afghanistan, Certificate of Appreciation and Marine Corp Martial Arts Qualification.

Those left to cherish his memory, his son Layton Michael Hilbert, his parents, Thomas E. & Susan Hilbert, his loving girlfriend, Liza Schenck, his sister, Kimberly (Bryan) Browne, his brother, Greg (Whitney) Hilbert, and his grandmother, Dorothy Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, John B Nelson and grandparents, Carl G and Edna (Figge) Hilbert.

Steve will always be remembered as an outdoorsman who spent his time fishing and shooting. He loved his family and his dog Katara. He loved the Marine Corps and all his Marine Corps Brothers. Semper Fi

Cpl Steve T Hilbert lost his battle with PTS on October 16, 2016. He was 29 years old.
