Thomas White Jr, 44

Thomas S. White, Jr., 44, of Hamilton Square, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 19, 2017. Born in Trenton, NJ, Tom was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Hamilton High School West, Class of 1991.

Over the years, Tom was employed with the Department of Corrections, CCL Label, Inc. and the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation. He later graduated from the Mercer County Community College Police Academy, Class of 2009 and since then has been employed as Police Officer with the Hamilton Township Police Department.

During his career in law enforcement Officer White touched the lives of many parents and children throughout Hamilton Township. He has been a L.E.A.D. officer in the Reynolds Middle School and also served as co-director of the Township Police Athletic League Safety Town program.

He was an avid Detroit Lions and New York Yankees fan and enjoyed hunting. He loved spending time with family and friends and rooting for his son, Ryan’s, baseball teams and watching his daughter, Kayla, while horseback riding.

Tom was a devoted father, son, friend, and coach. Above all else, Tom adored his children and every moment he spent with them.

Predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Stephen and Dorothy Popp; his paternal grandfather, Thomas R. White; his father, Thomas S. White, Sr.; his uncle, Stephen H. Popp; and his cousin, Stephen A. Popp;

Tom is survived by his children, Ryan T. and Kayla N. White, at home; his mother and step-father, Cathy and Brian Danka of Hamilton; his paternal grandmother, Jean White of Hamilton; his former wife, Michelle M. (Manners) White of Robbinsville; his aunt, Virginia Popp of Hamilton; his uncles, Michael Popp and his wife, Geri of Florida, Stephen V. White of Robbinsville and Michael White of New York City; his cousins, Stephanie Dos Santos and her husband, Amaury and their children, Amaury and Reece Dos Santos of Eastampton and Edward R. Popp of Hamilton; his “brothers”, John Sangillo of Hamilton Square and Ralph Wehner of Chesterfield and their families; his “grandmother”, Irene Smedley; and his former mother-in-law and father-in-law, Drew and Lucy Manners; and many dear friends including the Hamilton Township Police Department, Reynolds Middle School, and Nottingham Little League.
