Marine Corporal Lee Jay Pelton, born November 9, 1967, in Greeley, Colorado, beloved son of Rodney J. Pelton and Caroline R. (Foos) Pelton.
Mr Pelton was reared and educated in Greeley. He graduated from Greeley West High School in 1986.
After graduation from high school, he entered in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in Japan and Camp Pendleton , Calif. He was honorably discharged, a corporal, in 1990.
He then attended and graduated from ITT Tech in Aurora. He worked as a computer programmer, most recently for Qwest.
Mr Pelton married Cheryl L. Lyon on Aug. 18, 1995, in Golden, Colorado. He loved his four dogs, all of which he adopted. He was a musician, playing the guitar in a band. The band, “Powder Munki,” played in the Denver area.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Pelton of Bailey, Colo.; mother Caroline Pelton, sister Debbie (Edwin) Ferguson, brother Alan Pelton, nephew Mark Ferguson, father-in-law David (Bonnie) Lyon all of Greeley, Colo.; niece Shannon (Luke) Collinge of LaSalle, Colo.; and cousins Kelly and Riley Martin of Oakland, Calif. He was preceded in death by his father, who died Dec. 16, 2005.
Cpl Lee Jay Pelton lost his battle with PTS on September 6, 2006. He was 38 years old.
