Army First Lieutenant Matthew Martin Szymanski of Three Forks, Montana, born February 10, 1976, formerly of Orion and Dearborn Heights, the beloved son of Gerald and Patricia Szymanski.
Dear Grandson of the late James and Helen Szymanski and Virginia (late Joseph) Walkiewicz.
Beloved nephew of Karl Szymanski, Alan (Barbara) Szymanski, Susan (Blaine) White, and Elaine Duncan. Fiancee of Katie Carter. Also survived by many cousins, friends, and his super dog “Vader”.
Matthew retired from the US Military after 20 years of dedicated service. He was adventurous and loved God, country, family and friends.
1LT Matthew Martin Szymanski lost his battle June 15, 2014, in Three Forks, Montana. He was 38 years old.

I regret this tragic loss. Too many of these young men have felt the anguish, physical and mental pain that PTSD can engender.
God bless and comfort his Mother and Father and all those who love and grieve for him.
God rest his soul.
So very sad, many never recognize the demons that stay with you, and the battle that continues to rage.
I pray for his family, and the comfort in knowing his torment is at an end.
I hope this tragedy may continue to serve as an example to those who still suffer, and those who love them to get help.
