Michael Stangelo, 30

Marine Lance Corporal Michael Stangelo, of Lawrence Township died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Metro Health in Cleveland, Ohio.

He was born October 27, 1985 in Barberton to Pamela Sue (Holmes) and the late Tony Stangelo and had been a Canal Fulton resident all of his life. A 2005 Northwest High School graduate, Michael had an infectious smile. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served his country honorably, and attained the rank of Lance Corporal. Michael enjoyed camping, playing cornhole, music, fishing and he loved his family, friends and dog, Layla.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tony; grandparents, Paul and Ruth Holmes and grandmother, Anne Stangelo. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Pamela and Dave Duval; grandparents, Irene and Ronald Duval; aunt, Vicki (Joel) Migneron; uncles, John (Kathy) Holmes, Ronald Holmes, Steve Duval and Jeff Duval; cousins, Erica Warner and her son, Maxwell Kinsley, Kristi (Steve) LoDico, Paul (Bethany) Whitt and Jon (Vickie) Duval.

Lance Cpl Michael Stangelo lost his battle with PTS on June 15, 2016. He was 30 years old.
