Army Sergeant First Class Randy Sanford Abrams, born March of 1976, in Alamogordo, New Mexico, beloved son and brother.
He graduated from Arlington High School in Riverside where he was a member of ROTC.
Randy joined the US Marine Corps and later the US Army, where he served for a total of 13 years. During his many years of service for our country, he received numerous citations and commendations, and more recently was awarded a Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Medal.
SFC Randy Abrams took his own life during a PTSD flashback while he was sleeping after he returned from his 3rd tour in Iraq in 2009. He is the inspiration for Operation:I.V. an “intravenous of help” for an Iraq/Afghansistan Veteran. Believing that the best way to honor her son was to serve his brothers and sisters, Roxann Abrams, founded Operation:I.V.,Inc in her son’s honor and memory.
SFC Randy Sanford Abrams lost his battle with PTSD, March 20, 2009, in Hinesville, Georgia. He was 33 years old.
