Army Specialist Rusty W Bell, born August of 1984, in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He attended Pocahontas High School.
He joined the US Army and was assigned to the 603rd Aviation Support Battalion, Aviation Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division at Hunter Army Airfield in Georgia.
“He showed signs of combat stress after his first deployment to the Middle East in 2003 as a member of the Army National Guard” said his mother, Darlene Gee. When he came home in April 2004, he enlisted in the US Army and was sent back to Iraq in early 2005. SPC Bell served his country form 2001-2005.
SPC Rusty W Bell took his own life on August 12, 2005, in Taji, Iraq, north of Baghdad while serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was 21 years old.
