Damien Lee Eckstein, 25

Damien Lee Eckstein was born June 2, 1988, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the son of Jim and Conni (Ohler) Eckstein. Damien moved to Norman in 1993 with his mother, Conni and brother, Tim where he attended the Norman Public Schools, graduating from Norman High School in 2006.

He enlisted into the United States Army Reserves and deployed to Iraq with the 302nd MP Company from Grand Prairie, Texas. Damien proudly served in Mosul, Iraq, surviving an IED explosion, patrolling the streets of Mosul and training the Iraqi military.

Damien was united in marriage to Miss Tiffany Powell on August 12, 2008 in the backyard of his mother’s home in Norman, Oklahoma. Damien and Tiffany made their home in Moore where they were devoted in caring for their three beautiful children, Drake, Aubree, and Blaine.

After his return from Iraq, Damien was employed with Sign-A-Rama of Oklahoma City.

Damien is survived by his wife, Tiffany and their three children of the home; his mother, Conni Eckstein of Norman, Oklahoma; his father, Jim Eckstein and his fiancée, Terri Stewart and her children, Kyle and Jenna of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one brother, Tim Eckstein of Moore, Oklahoma; his mother-in-law, Cynthia Crusha and her husband, Leon, of Pawnee, Oklahoma; his father-in-law, Terry Powell and his wife, Elleesha, of Oklahoma City; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gordon and Vivian Ohler and his paternal grandparents, William and Phyllis Eckstein.

Damien Lee Eckstein lost his battle with PTS on October 14, 2013. He was 25 years old.
