Emilio Enrique Rivera
September 25th, 1990 ~ October 22, 2019
Emilio Enrique Rivera born on September 25th, 1990 in Chicago, Il. Emilio passed away on October 22, 2019 at 29 years young. As a young child, Emilio was such a spirited human. He would light up any room he walked into and always loved being surrounded by his family and friends. Growing up he was a well-rounded athlete and always had the urge to be the best. That need to be the best followed him throughout his whole life. Emilio graduated from Hudson High School in 2009, soon after graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. After boot camp, he started his training in Artillery specializing in HIMARS and stationed in Camp Pendleton 5th Battalion 11th Marines. He honorably served for four years, two out of the four were spent overseas in Helmand province, Afghanistan.
After his time in the Marines came to an end he felt like he was missing a part of himself and missed the camaraderie. Shortly after he came home he decided to become a Fireman. Emilio was that Firemen you wanted to show up to your emergency, he was Johnny on the spot. “Act, don’t react. People’s lives depend on it” he would say. Every day he was proud to put on his uniform, military and fire. Emilio leaves behind a very big and loved family. There will always be a piece of our hearts that will be missing.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 10:00 am at Generations Christian Church in Trinity.
