Eric M Whitelock, 25

 

Army Specialist Eric M Whitelock, born March of 1988, at the US Military Hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany, grew up in Downington, Pennsylvania. He attended Glen Acres Elementary School in West Chester, Beaver Creek Elementary in Downington, and Collegium Charter School in Exton.

SPC Whitelock joined the US Army in July 2009. He was an infantry soldier with the rank of Specialist, assigned to Alpha Company 1-66 Armor Regiment “Iron Knights,” 1st Brigade, 4th Infantry Division stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.

SPC Whitelock’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the NATO Medal. He was deployed in Afghanistan from August 2010 to July 2011.

Eric loved the outdoors, especially hiking in the mountains of Colorado or a day at the Jersey Shore. He took great pleasure in sharing a special meal with friends and family, and loved a great “set of wheels” like his Jeep, Mustang and Toyota pickup. He thoroughly enjoyed music and movies, and his Army friendships meant the world to him.

SPC Eric M Whitelock lost his battle with PTSD, August 17, 2013, in Fort Carson, Colorado. He was 25 years old.
