He is survived by siblings Shaun Walmsley of Indiana, Pennsylvania; Liam (Melanie) Walmsley, SCPO USCG of Port Angeles, Washington; Thomas (Antoinette) Walmsley, Jr, former SGT. Maryland Army National Guard of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Elizabeth Walmsley of Frederick, Maryland and Brendan Walmsley, Captain US Army of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews, Erykah Walmsley, Simone Walmsley, Celeste Walmsley, Luke Walmsley, Christopher Walmsley, Laela Walmsley, Jameson Walmsley, Makenna Walmsley, Jacoby Walmsley, Gianna Walmsley, Teddy Walmsley, and Evelyn Walmsley.
Matthew graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in 2008. He played varsity Football, Wrestling, and Lacrosse. Upon graduation he entered the United States Air Force on July 1, 2008. Upon graduation of basic training he was assigned to 352 SOAMES in England and then to the 27 SOAMES at Cannon AFB in Clovis, NM. Matthew served all over Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Afghanistan and was a highly decorated Airman.
